Can you believe it is already June? Where has the year gone?
We've had a couple of really busy weeks and there is no sign of slowing down before the end of June!

Jump Rope for Heart

We are proud to announce we raised over $5000 as a school for Jump Rope for Heart. What is even more exciting is that Mr. Chomlak died his hair pink to recognize our efforts.

Bike Rodeo

Peace Officers from the City of Leduc joined us June 4 to teach us about bike safety. They taught us about the importance of well fitting helmets and the ABC's of a bike check.

Telus World of Science

What a great day at the Telus World of Science. We had a busy day learning about space in the planetarium, visiting the Terry Fox exhibit, got to travel back in time to learn about dinosaurs, and we even got to build our own roller coaster. Check out the video from the Thunder Coaster! 

Language Arts

We received letters from 3L a few weeks ago and had a great time reading them and working on a response back. We learned how to write a friendly letter as well as address an envelope. 

Math

We have been cruising through math topics. We have now been introduced to fractions and we are working on learning about different types of graphs and analyzing data.

Mothers Day and May

Hello all! We hope you've been enjoying the spring weather as we move further into May. We have had some exciting things happening in our class.

Social

We are coming to the end of our India unit and we have learned so many great things. We just finished studying how Diwali is celebrated in India. Ask your child about this exciting and beautiful festival!

Science

We have finished making bridges and are moving on to our final project in our building unit! We are making garages with sliding doors for our hot wheels cars! Ask your child about some of the awesome designs they've used so far.

Mother's Day Gifts

We had such a great time making our Mother's Day stepping stones! The kids loved the chance to make a special design of their own for mum.

Education Week

Let's Bake Bread 

Students loved kicking off Education Week with the Let's Bake Bread in school field trip. We were able to look at how different breads look in Tunisia, Ukraine, Peru, and India. Students were able to sample a bread at school and also got to take one loaf home.

Zumba

The kids loved the chance to dance during their Zumba class on Wednesday!

Language Arts

We have been working hard on writing an expository piece on Allstars Indoor Playground. They are enjoying taking the time to write juicy sentences about how much fun it is.

Math
